Women's Learning Partnership President & CEO Mahnaz Afkhami delivers the concluding remarks during a one-day conference in cooperation with Social Research Journal at the New School for Social Research. The conference, entitled "2020 Vision: Mobilizing for Women's Rights and Eliminating Violence Against Women," brought together grassroots women's rights activists from Brazil, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Nigeria, and Iran as well as keynote speakers Shirin Ebadi, Thoraya Obaid, Mary Robinson, and Melanne Verveer--to discuss a plan for a future free from violence and grounded in equality at global and local levels.
