This video is of the first panel discussion of the second day of conference. First are opening remarks from Mahnaz Afkhami, followed by an introduction to the fourth panel, "Participatory Leadership and Democratic Governance," by the panel chair Carl Gershman. The first panelist to speak is Najma Heptullah, founder and president of Parliamentarians forum for Human Development and Indian MP, who speaks about increasing women's participation in political decision making. The second speaker is Aruna Rao, coordinator for Gender@work (an Indian women's rights NGO), who outlines institutional strategies in persuit of human security/women's rights. The third panelist to speak is Mishka Mojabber Mourani, Senior Vice President of International College in Lebanon, who discusses the theory and practice behind WLP's leadership training model. The fourth and final panelist is Kumi Naidoo of CIVICUS, who speaks about elections without democracy.

Clash or Consensus: Gender and Human Security in a Globalized World was a forum convened by Women's Learning Partnership (WLP) and sponsored by the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at John Hopkins University to discuss improving human security through improving human rights in the Global South.
